Abbreviations

If you find a legal abbreviation that you do not understand, consult the following resources:

Prince's Bieber Dictionary of Legal Abbreviations.

  • This resource can be found in the Reference Collection (located behind the reference desk) at KF246.B46 2009.

Cardiff Index to Legal Abbreviations

  •  "This database allows you to search for the meaning of abbreviations for English language legal publications, from the British Isles, the Commonwealth and the United States, including those covering international and comparative law."

Interlibrary Loan

If you need a book or periodical that the Schmid Law Library does not own, you may request it through interlibrary loan. You may make a request by filling out the ILL form located under "Quick Links" on the Schmid Law Library home page.  Please note that this process can take up to two weeks, depending on the item requested, so it is important to make these requests as soon as possible.  If you have questions about interlibrary loan, please contact Kris Lauber. She can be reached at 402-472-8304 or klauber@unl.edu.
